Apparently Lauren Willig and Cara Elliot are teaching a course on romance at Yale. They invited Jo Bourne to post the syllabus and supplemental reading list at jobourne.blogspot.com, and invite additional book suggestions.
The syllabus looks really good--I found a couple of books of criticism on romance I want to track down--and the supplemental list is fascinating.

Hi DLS -- I saw this too, and it looks like so much fun. It's great to see romance getting respect as a literary genre. Plus, doing the reading for class would be a pleasure!

| That class sounds AMAZING, AWESOME, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! I wish I had the time to travel to New Haven to take this course. I would love it. And that homework! I think that's my new excuse for reading romances. It's my homework assignment.
