I dont see anything posted here, so I hope this is not a duplicate thread.
I just wanted to pay my respects to a much beloved and unique author. Catcher in the Rye changed my life. It was so powerful to my 15 year old self, that it changed the way I viewed the world, how I empathized with people and in a way, I related to Holden's teenage angst.

RIP JD Salinger.

I'm new here as of today actually. I'd also like to say that "Catcher in the Rye" was one of my most beloved favorite books of all time. RIP Mr. Salinger

I loved Catcher in the Rye and I wrote my first grad school paper on it. I was sad to hear that he passed away.

I never did get around to reading Catcher in the Rye although I've had a copy for years. I'll have to read that soon. RIP
