May 7, 2012 • Paris in Love is a bestseller! Thank you so much to all of my wonderful readers who put Paris in Love on the New York Times extended bestseller list for THREE weeks!
• Haven’t picked up a copy yet? People Magazine gave it one of their coveted (and rare) 4-star reviews, and USA Today said Paris was an enchanting memoir, "written like a spool of lovely prose haiku." Why not try it out?
• Do you love a man in uniform? How about heroes who really are heroes? If you do, don’t miss my newest Barnes & Noble column. I’ve featured five swoon worthy heroes…including a fireman or two.
• Be sure to enter the May contest here on my website. One reader will win signed copies of all three of my Fairy Tale novels.
• Would you like to be an Eloisa Ambassador? Visit the sign-up form on my Facebook page for all of the information. Hint—my ambassadors get a special monthly give-away!
• Talking of give-aways, do you receive the Lucky Duck newsletter? One of this month’s lucky ducks will receive a Swarovski crystal duck—and an early copy of a book by a dear friend of mine whose initials (ahem) are JQ…
• And finally, I had such a wonderful time on the Paris in Love tour, getting to meet so many of you. If you have a picture to share, please either send them to me or post them on my Facebook page. I’d love to see them!
April 3, 2012 • Paris in Love is finally here! I do hope you love the story of our adventure. There are lots of photos of Paris up on the Paris in Love website, as well as excerpts and a book club guide. Once you’ve read the book, start planning your own trip!
• I’ll be on tour for Paris in Love throughout the month of April. Please come see me. I’ll be in New York City, Boston, Minnesota, Connecticut, Florida, Atlanta, New Jersey and Philadelphia. I’d love to meet you!
• So Paris in on the shelves…what’s next? Definitely not Moscow in Love (my children would kill me). The Ugly Duchess publishes in the end of August. I’m very happy to reveal the cover on my Coming Soon page. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous!
• How do you feel about kids in your romance novels? This month my Barnes & Noble review column is all about the problem child. I’ve covered five fabulous novels where things run amuck due to the children involved.
• Would you like to be an Eloisa Ambassador? Visit the sign up form on my Facebook page for all of the information. Hint—my ambassadors get a special monthly contest!
• Speaking of contests, make sure to enter the April contest here on my website. One winner will receive a fabulous Paris in Love prize pack that includes a travel jewelry box, stationary, yummy bath products, signed copies of A Kiss At Midnight and When Beauty Tamed the Beast, plus lots of other goodies. Don’t miss out on your chance!
March 22, 2012 • Paris in Love will ship to stores in only 2 weeks (April 3). If you’re tempted, there’s still time to jump at the 46% discount currently running on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I just received my author copy of the hardcover, and I think, (she said less than modestly) that the finished book is beautiful.
• There are some fabulous new developments on ParisInLoveBook.com. Check out my Cast of Characters with photos of my whole family (including plump Milo, on his velvet cushion)! We added a gallery of Paris photos, and a page called “Eloisa’s Paris” that will gather all the essays I’m writing for Fodor’s, etc. Keep an eye out for lots of delicious shopping and travel advice.
• One of the most exciting additions is the Book Club Kit, which includes not just questions, but a whole Frenchified party planning kit. I hope you and your friends have a wonderful time discussing Paris in Love!
March 5, 2012 • Have you visited the Paris in Love website lately? Visit the Cast of Characters page! You can see pictures of my family (the characters) and even Milo, our very plump Chihuahua. If you’re tempted by Paris in Love, both Barnes & Noble and Amazon have reduced pre-orders by 46%. I’m not sure how long that price will continue, so snatch up a copy now.
• My latest Barnes & Noble review column is out today. This month I’m talking about the past—five historical romances in which loss of reputation is the focal point for the plot. Aren’t you glad that your reputation doesn’t depend on something as fragile as a stolen kiss? It’s great fun to read about those dangerous days.
• Paris in Love will be available in an audio version, and guess who the reader is? Me! We’re putting an MP3 clip up on the site… please enjoy.
• After you’ve listened to the audio excerpt, pop over to my contest page. The prize this month is positively decadent—and the answer to the question is hiding in the audio clip! Maybe you’ll be the one to pamper yourself with a Paris in Love spa basket.
• Keep an eye on my Events & Press page. I’m doing lots of signings and events for Paris in Love, and it’s very likely I’ll be near you. I’ll even be visiting Australia and New Zealand this year!
February 20, 2012 • Today I put up a brand new sneak peek of Paris in Love, drawn from the section called "A Parisian Winter." Please enjoy… I’m happy to say that my little essay about the way the Eiffel Tower wove into our lives is still up at Barnes & Noble, and they’re offering a very special discount of 46% for pre-orders, which Amazon matched. Who knows how long this will last, so if Paris in Love tempts you, please indulge!
February 14, 2012 • I have huge news—Barnes & Noble just put up a special excerpt of Paris in Love (together with an original introduction from me, not published anywhere else), and right now, through Feb. 17, you can pre-order the book for 50% off! This is an amazing gift on their part, and won’t be duplicated once the book is actually in print. So please, if you were thinking that you and Aunt Marge might like a copy—this is the time to get you both a copy for the price of one!
• And here’s a cool thing that’s totally free. I’ve added beautiful Duchess Quartet cards to my Extras page. They show the order of books in that series, and give a sense of each plot. If you send a stamp & your address the PO box on the Extras page, I’ll send you a signed card. And what’s more, it’s glittered–by me and Anna! We sat watching Top Chef (to which we are addicted) and glittered the cards’ headers, just for fun. I hope you enjoy them!
• I have a review up this week on the B&N site for a book that I absolutely adored—Lauren Willig’s The Garden Intrigue. Lauren writes the Pink Carnation series (tho no problem with reading out of series). I love her witty stories, set in an idyllic world that I want to join. In this one, Augustus Whittlesby is an undercover spy—whose “cover” demands that he write really dreadful poetry. He doesn’t mind until an impudent American starts making fun of his rhymes. Lauren’s books are so merry and fun. They’re hilarious, and yet there’s surprising depth there too.
February 6, 2012 • I’m so pleased to say that The Duke is Mine hit the bestseller lists – huge thanks to each of you who contributed to my joyful, champagne-filled evening of celebration! And if you’re eagerly awaiting my next fairy tale, I added some fun details about The Ugly Duchess to my Coming Soon page. Be sure to visit my contest page as well — there is a fabulous new prize that you are sure to love!
• My next book isn’t actually a romance–Paris in Love is a funny, sweet memoir of my family’s year in France, pubbing April 3. Do check out the website: recipes and travel advice are going up soon.
• This month I’m talking about five heroines in my B&N column—each of whom has the very great misfortune to be less-than-gorgeous…and to meet up with an utterly beautiful man. The novels range from hilarious to heartbreaking, and each is worth a re-read.
• Talking of re-reading, I wrote a new Books to Love review about a novel I’ve read at least three times: Lynn Michaels’s Mother of the Bride. Even when I moved into a NY apartment and got rid of almost all my books, I kept this one!
• I had a wonderful time in Seattle, signing books with my dear friends Julia Quinn, Connie Brockway, Lisa Kleypas and Christina Dodd. I put some photos up in the Readers’ pages—and if you’d like to have a signed book this year, please look at the Events page. I’m going to be in a lot of places!
January 19, 2012 • Paris in Love alert! You’re going to be able to read about all our Paris adventures even earlier than we thought, because the publication date just changed to April 3! Have you seen the adorable give-away cards my publisher made up? Pre-order the book (from any retailer) for a friend who adores Paris, then give her one of these cards so she knows what’s coming.
