Lots to report!

February 01, 2010 Want to know a little bit about how I met my own knight in shining armor? In honor of Valentine’s Day, check out “How I found True Love” in the Readers’ Pages.

I just put up a new “cut” excerpt from A Kiss at Midnight, coming in August, 2010. You won’t see this in the published book, so don’t miss it now!

Much Ado About You was voted one of readers’ Top Ten Comfort Reads on the All About Romance site. What an honor! My comfort reads are tattered and worn; so I particularly appreciate being on a list of that nature. And Romantic Times put A Duke of her Own in their finalist list for “Best British-Set Historical Romance of 2009.”

We’ve added a feed from my Facebook updates over to the left – a couple times I day I put up a little account of our adventures in Paris this year. Please do become a fan if you’re a Facebook user.

If you live around Greenville, North Carolina, I’d love to say hi on February 18th –see details in Meet Eloisa.

My new Barnes & Noble column is up – and I’m talking about one of my favorite plots–forced marriage.  Do come by!

Design-a-Duchess winners!

December 16, 2009 I’ve chosen the winning dolls for theDesign-a-Duchess Paper Doll contest (available for download in the Readers’ Pages), and now it’s your turn to vote for Reader’s Choice, with a chance to win a signed copy of An Affair Before Christmas.

And don’t miss the newest extra chapter in the Readers’ Pages — all about Jemma!

Special giveaway

December 08, 2009 Being away from the US has made me feel particularly sympathetic for families who can’t be together as they have a loved one serving in the military. So I’m doing a special giveaway of Parisian Christmas ornaments for relatives of military personnel – with a huge hug and our thanks for your sacrifice. Check the contest page for simple instructions, and please do share with any eligible friends.

Read a deleted scene!

December 01, 2009 I just posted a “cut” excerpt from my next book, A Kiss at Midnight! I think you’ll love this little snippet about the prince… though you won’t find it in the final book or, indeed, anywhere but here. Enjoy!

My new column on small town romances is up on Barnes & Noble. I grew up in a small town, and these novels are particularly dear to my heart. Plus, this is the best time of year to think about small town values — not to mention watch It’s a Wonderful Life once more!

I’m so excited about my wonderful holiday card: the Grand Prize Winning paper doll! If you’re not signed up for my mailing list, please do it right away. I’m mailing out the cards to all US dwellers around 12/16. And the winner as well as more fabulous dresses will then be available to download on the site.

A cascade of honors, each dearly appreciated, for my books! Booklist put When the Duke Returns on their Ten Best Romances of 2009; Amazon put A Duke of Her Own on their Top Ten list; and AAR produced a list of favorite holiday reads that included Affair Before Christmas. Huzzah!

I’m having so much fun on my Facebook fan page and on Twitter. We chat about everything from French sausages to great romances. There’s a warm and welcoming community over on Facebook — please join us!

Don’t forget to read the reprints of my first two books

November 02, 2009 If you haven’t read the reprints of Potent Pleasures and Midnight Pleasures, do snatch them up at the great new price! I’m getting a lot of fun mail from readers who like my early tearful streak (get your kleenex ready).

I’m having so much fun on my Facebook fan page, and Twitter! I’m updating two or three times a day with my adventures from Paris, from the ridiculous (washing dishes with salt) to the sublime (Paris is exquisite). There’s a great community over on Facebook – please join us!

I just put up the first paragraph of my next book, A Kiss at Midnight!

My new Barnes & Noble column is live today – about heroes who aren’t particularly hairy or rakish – but truly decent. (Note: you can now subscribe to the column feed.)

Looking for a funny sexy contemporary along the lines of Kristin Higgins? Check out my Books to Love review of Julia Harper’s For the Love of Pete.

Judging for my paper doll contest is done – one of the hardest tasks of my life! They were all exquisite. We’ll be putting up a Gallery of five winning dresses/dolls next month, all downloadable as paper dolls. Plus we had a big group of fabulous runners-up. Prizes will be going out this month.

First two books now reprinted!

October 01, 2009 Big News! My two very first books, Potent Pleasures and Midnight Pleasures have just been reprinted — and at a fabulous low price! Even lo these many years, I still love the characters, and I hope you will too.

My very own version of Cinderella (coming in 2010) now has a title!

Have you got your paper doll decorated? I’ve gone crazy with the prizes: everything from French kitchen clothes to the best French chocolate, as well as special prizes for youngsters. Mix up some apple martinis and throw a duchess decorating party! (For the younger set, cupcakes will do…)

My new Barnes & Noble column goes live the 5th – on those pesky heroines who can’t make it on their own. Save me, somebody! (Note: you can now subscribe to the column feed!)

I’ve posted two new FAQs – are you curious about whether I might write a book for Villiers’s children? Or if my next series might feature a hero in baseball stripes rather than silks and satin?

Looking for a sexy, fun historical? Check out my review of Elizabeth Hoyt’s The Raven Prince in Books To Love.

An Extra Chapter

September 01, 2009 I’ve posted a brand new Extra Chapter in my Readers’ Pages. This concludes my Desperate Duchesses series and features every single couple from the series! Please do check it out.

My new column for B&N is up — on heroines with brilliant writing careers. These three delicious romances can’t be missed!

Bantam is releasing reprints of both Potent Pleasures and Midnight Pleasures. Look for them on bookshelves September 29!

Design-a-Duchess Challenge

August 25, 2009 Here’s my most exciting contest yet! I commissioned a lovely Georgian paper doll (a duchess, naturally) and she’s here for you to download — and decorate! I took a try myself, so please don’t be shy if you’re not so crafty; we’ll have lots of winners and lots of fun.
