Paris In Love will be available April 3!

January 19, 2012 Paris in Love alert!  You’re going to be able to read about all our Paris adventures even earlier than we thought, because the publication date just changed to April 3! Have you seen the adorable give-away cards my publisher made up?  Pre-order the book (from any retailer) for a friend who adores Paris, then give her one of these cards so she knows what’s coming.

New B&N Column, Upcoming Events, and more…

January 2, 2012 Of course, my most exciting news at the moment is about the publication of The Duke is Mine. About the only thing better than pub date in an author’s life is the day she types “The End” on a manuscript. If you haven’t read my version of The Princess and the Pea — complete with a pile of mattresses and a domineering mother-in-law, please check out the first three chapters. I hope you love it!

My new B&N column is up! I’m writing about romances in which the characters are grappling with considerable emotional baggage—whether the bruises stem from their own previous relationship, or fall-out from earlier in life. These novels are potent evidence that there’s nothing more entrancing than reading about someone else’s problems, especially when they end happily! One further note: I’ve read all of my dear friend Teresa Medeiros’s books, and The Pleasure of Her Kiss is one of her best. If you relished early Harlequins set in exotic harems the way I did, let me describe Kiss as one of those, with a heroine stolen away to a fabulous harem (resembling nothing so much a wonderful day spa)… all the exotic lush sensuality and none of the downsides of a harem!

Are you new to this site? If so, check out the lovely little Easter Eggs that decorate the pages–except when they don’t! The Easter Eggs come and go, and swap about…but if you log into the Readers’ Pages you can download a “scrambled egg trail” that tells you where to find the Easter Eggs talking about The Duke is Mine, for example. Aren’t you curious about what Lucy looks like? I say looks because Lucy is my very own dog! Click on the right egg and you’ll discover a picture of her.

I’m about to pack my bags and take off for Seattle, so if you live in or around that city, I hope to see you! I’m doing two wonderful events with Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Connie Brockway, and Christina Dodd on the 8th and 9th of January. Please join us! The University Bookshelf event is a ticketed event, but your $5.00 turns directly into a $5.00 book coupon. That’s to make sure that not too many people show up—so if you’d like to come, please buy a ticket now!

And finally, check out the Coming Soon page! Now that The Duke is Mine just published, I’m starting to think about the fact that Paris in Love, my memoir of our family’s year in Paris, is only months away from its publication date! We have a micro-site up now, and more to come. I’d love to know what you think, and if you have particular requests for that website, let me know! Recipes? Traveling advice? Fun stories?

In Stores Now: The Duke is Mine

December 27, 2011 The Duke is Mine is in stores today! Library Journal starred it; Romantic Times gave it a Top Pick; Publishers Weekly said it hit the “trifecta of sizzling romance, engaging characters, and an enthralling, quick-moving story.” I’d love to know what you think. Pick up a copy and then shoot me a comment on Facebook or by email!

Did anyone gift you with a new e-reader in the last month? After you download Duke (ahem), how about trying out my e-novella, “Winning the Wallflower” for only .99¢? It’s a totally fun story about a girl who sits at the side of the ballroom–until she inherits a fortune. You could gobble it up in an afternoon, or save it for one of those looong lines at the DMV or airport.

Have you checked out my new Paris in Love website? If not, please take a look… there’s an excerpt from the book up, with more to come (the memoir publishes on April 17).

Are you one of Eloisa’s Readers? Don’t forget to log in and check out the new Easter Eggs (don’t you want to see a picture of Lucy?) and a little piece by me called Why Fairy Tales. Plus, as always, the Readers’ Pages have free short stories, lots of photos, and other fun stuff.

I’m travelling so much in 2012…maybe to your hometown? So far, the Events page includes New York (on 12/29!), Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Houston…even Australia. Do sign up on my Facebook Events page if you think you can come one of them. And if you’d like me to visit a town a bit closer to you, drop a comment on Avon’s Facebook page and let them know.

A thank you gift!

December 24, 2011 My publisher Avon just surprised me! They want to thank all the readers who put their first original e-book on The New York Times list—and that book happens to be my e-novella, Winning the Wallflower! As a thank you gift, they dropped the price to ZERO for just two days (price goes back up on the 27th). If you enjoyed Wallflower, won’t you send it to your friends as a gift from Avon? And if you didn’t get around to downloading it, now’s the time!

Book Giveaway!

December 20, 2011 The Duke is Mine will be publishing very soon on December 27th. My friends, Teresa Medeiros and Laura Lee Guhrke also have books coming out that same day. To celebrate, we’re giving away bundles of three books on each of our Facebook pages! You can win signed copies of Teresa’s The Devil Wears Plaid, Laura’s Wedding of the Season and my When Beauty Tamed the Beast. To enter, visit the contest tab located on my Facebook page, fill out the entry form and click submit. Enter on Laura and Teresa’s pages for more opportunities to win!

“Winning the Wallflower” available today!

December 6, 2011 Winning the Wallflower,” my newest e-novella, just published for a mere .99¢! Who hasn’t lingered at the side of a dance floor, desperately trying to figure out if it’s possible to drown in a glass of punch? Writing the story of my heroine, Lucy, was very cathartic for me, because after Lucy inherits a fortune, she’s not a wallflower any longer. The very first thing she should do is ditch the fiancé who never seems to say a word to her… But does she want to?
My new B&N column raves about six romances I re-read this year. I don’t have a lot of time for re-reading (who does?). But these are tucked away on my keeper shelf; be sure to check out any that you may have missed.

Have you seen my new Paris in Love website yet? Take a look at the holiday cards! You might want to send one to a would-be Parisian in your life… I vote for the card that depicts the four of us ambling along with plump little Milo, my mother-in-law’s Chihuahua, bringing up the rear.

The Duke is Mine will be on the shelves on December 27th. So far the reviews are glowing! Library Journal gave it a star and praised it for having “rapier wit, bawdy wordplay, and a stinging sense of fun.” Huzzah!

Want to read a book that I think has rapier wit? I’ve posted a review of Julia Quinn’s It’s In His Kiss on my Books to Love page. If you’ve missed this lovely romance, there’s a real treat in store for you.

And finally, I know many of you loved When Beauty Tamed the Beast. So did Library Journal; they included it on their Ten Best Romances of 2011 list. I’m so pleased and honored.

The Paris In Love website has launched!

November 23, 2011 Big excitement! My new website for Paris in Love just launched: please check it out (especially that wonderful quote from Elizabeth Gilbert…I may have it carved into my tombstone).

A particularly great feature on the new site are the four holiday cards. Just pre-order Paris in Love (in any format, on any site), and then print out one of the cards promising a would-be Parisian—your sister-in-law, a friend, a secretary, a business colleague—a delicious splash of their favorite city, coming to them in April. Then tuck the card into an envelope and check that person off your list!

Did you know that I have a novella called Winning the Wallflower coming out in just a couple of weeks? It’s a delicious 100 pages, pubbing in e-form for only .99¢. It’s a perfect antidote to holiday madness…why not pre-order so you know a little escape is on the way to you?

Are you signed up for the Lucky Duck newsletter? You don’t want to miss a chance to win one of five copies of The Duke is Mine or five copies of Lisa Kleypas’s Rainshadow Road, do you? Sign up now! Lucky Ducks get an advance copy of a romance and a sparkly Swarovski crystal duck.

Talking of newsletters, are you signed up for mine? How about Teresa Medeiros’s? I’m asking because on December 9th we’re giving two random readers (who have to be signed up for both of our mailing lists) signed advance copies of our upcoming romances. We love each other’s work and we know our fans feel the same way.

Be a Lucky Duck!

November 17, 2011 Join the Lucky Duck Club! A couple times a month, my dear friend Linda Francis Lee and I give one lucky reader an advance copy (an ARC) of a friend’s novel–Nora Roberts, Julia Quinn, Christina Dodd!–along with a sparkly Swarovski crystal duck. Next month is HUGE: we’re giving away five ARCs of Lisa Kleypas’ Rainshadow Road, five ARCs of my The Duke is Mine and an ARC of Teresa Medeiros’ The Pleasure of Your Kiss! And with each early copy you get a darling duck.

If you sign up for the Lucky Duck Club newsletter, once a month we’ll tell you exactly what’s up for grabs, and what day to look for it (plus newsletter exclusive contests!). The Lucky Duck Club has its own Facebook page if you’d like to read more.

And here’s another chance to win Teresa Medeiros’s fabulous Pleasure of Your Kiss: between December 1 and December 9, she and I will give away ARCs of both my and her December romance to two fans on our newsletter list…the catch is that the winner needs to be signed up for both of our newsletters! So if you’re only getting my newsflash, how about going for the newsletter? And be sure to sign up for Teresa’s as well!

Announcing… a new e-novella, Winning the Wallflower, coming December 6 for only .99¢! Poor Lucy: she sits by the side of the ballroom until she suddenly inherits a fortune. Winning the Wallflower is a perfect antidote to holiday stress: why not pre-order?

For that matter, how about pre-ordering The Duke is Mine to make sure that it doesn’t get forgotten in a flurry of holiday hysteria?
